'Que on the Yazoo to Feature BBQ, Tea Competition

Good food, art and music will abound in Greenwood this weekend!

GREENWOOD - Main Street Greenwood's 'Que on the Yazoo festival will feature a BBQ contest and Y'all Magazine's Sweet Tea Challenge, in addition to the Delta Artisan Showcase and the Downtown Greenwood Farmers Market Iron Chef Competition.

All events will take place along Front and Howard Streets in historic downtown Greenwood. Things start cooking around 10 a.m. Saturday morning and continue until later in the night. Starting at 3 p.m. and continuing at 6 p.m. on Saturday, the air in downtown Greenwood will be filled with live music. Featured musical acts include Tryk3, Jonboat and the Trolling Motors, and Jay Lang and the Ringers. Organizers promise that there will be something for everyone.

For more information on the competitions and how you can still enter, visit the Main Street Greenwood Web site.

'Que on the Yazoo is the second event in the Main Street Summer Series, a collection of events produced by Main Street Greenwood, Inc. as a replacement for the former River to the Rails Festival. Art Alfresco, the first event, was held last month. Main Street Chrome Show will be held June 12 and there will be two downtown concerts held in late summer, one on August 6 and the other on September 18.
